CIS GIVES BACK

American Soldiers give out soccer balls to Iraqi Children

CIS Gives Back Communities In Schools of Carteret County, (CISOCC) joined a very special partnership last holiday season with the Carteret County Chamber of Commerce and a very special couple - U.S. Marines Sgt. Jennifer Zitani and her husband, Sgt. Kellen Zitani. She has been stationed in Iraq for the past nine months. In a recent letter from Jennifer to her family, which was shared with Raymond Hopkins of AAA Security (Local Authorized ADT Dealer), she asks that they not send gifts this year to them or the Zitani children, but rather provide soccer balls for the Iraqi children. Their decision was based on what they feel is the true light of the season: "Gifts from the Heart."

"Gifts From the Heart" in action lighting up a child's life

One of CIS' five basics is to encourage children to give back to their community and peers. So many families and business joined us in this special effort this holiday season and contributed a true "Gift from the Heart", soccer balls and more soccer balls. Carteret County citizens helped spread Christmas cheer to hundreds of Iraqi children and according to Sgt. Jennifer Zitani the smiles from the children being given for many their first gift, was there gift back to each of us that participated. So from Carteret County to Iraq, no matter where you are, together we can make a difference in the life of a child.
