Adopt A School and Volunteer Program

  • Tutor a child
  • Read to or listen to a reader
  • Be a mentor
  • Furnish clothing for children in need
  • Join a child for school lunch (Lunch Buddy program)
  • Participate in career day
  • Participate in school fund raisers
  • Remember birthdays
  • Send cards to teachers
  • Serve as an Adopt A School and Volunteer advisory council member
  • Commit to pray for the school, the staff, the children and their families
  • Donate financially to support the program

Teen Court

  • Volunteer to help manage and teach law profession etiquette and knowledge to students
  • Recruit a restaurant to donate food once a month for the volunteer students, adult volunteers and staff
  • Serve as a Teen Court advisory council member
  • Help with community service projects
  • Help with fundraising and grant writing
  • Assist with parenting workshops and peer leadership groups
  • Sponsor a scholarship for a graduating senior pursuing a career in the field of law
  • Donate financially to support the program

After School Program

  • Donate school supplies, craft supplies and program supplies for the after school program
  • Donate file cabinets, refrigerator, microwave, etc.
  • Donate board games, educational games, and educational books
  • Donate magazines
  • Donate health equipment age appropriate for elementary and middle school children
  • Volunteer to help with preparing or providing snacks during the afternoon
  • Chaperone field trips
  • Provide afternoon activities and enrichment
  • Recruit adopting community partners
  • Provide fundraising and grant writing assistance
  • Volunteer to teach children the art of music by providing lessons with a specific instrument
  • Volunteer to teach dance, pottery, sign language, foreign language, cultural appreciation, etc.
  • Volunteer to start a chess club
  • Volunteer to teach the game rules for various sports such as football, soccer, softball, basketball, etc.
  • Volunteer to provide administrative assistance at the office
  • Donate financially to support the program

Family Resource Centers

  • Donate craft supplies
  • Donate file cabinets, refrigerator, microwave, etc.
  • Provide translation services
  • Provide transportation
  • Donate educational toys, books, computer programs, children's clothing, etc.
  • Provide office assistance
  • Donate financially to support the program

Administrative Office

  • Volunteer to help with administrative duties
  • Volunteers to serve on various committees related to program and operational development
  • Volunteer with experience in developing newsletters and feature articles
  • Donate file cabinets, microwave, office furniture and office privacy partitions

Fundraising

  • Volunteer to serve on various committees related to fundraising
  • Provide services to enhance fundraising events,( i.e. graphics artist, marketing skills)
  • Volunteer to assist with large mailings (stuffing envelopes, invitations for events)

CIS Endowment
